Carpathian Investment Forum 2026

At the beginning of July, KARPATY Invest Forum 2026: Communities as Partners for Investors took place in Bukovel. The forum served as a platform for dialogue among businesses, local communities, investors, developers, government representatives, and international partners on the development of the Carpathian region.

Volodymyr Rudoi, Director of VMR Group, joined the discussion on the role of communities in attracting investment. He participated in the panel session “Community as a Service: What Does an Investor Need from Local Authorities?”

Together with Andriy Myroniak, Head of the Yaremche City Council; Khrystyna Vasilkova, Secretary of the Polyanytsia Territorial Community; Yurii Halyk, Chief Administrative Officer of the Vorokhta Territorial Community; and Andrii Deliatynchuk, Head of the Yasinia Territorial Community, the participants discussed what investors expect from local authorities in practice.

During the panel, the discussion focused on:

• Competition among communities for investment and their readiness to work with business;
• Investor services at the local level — from the first contact to project implementation;
• Spatial planning, land-related matters, and engineering and transport infrastructure;
• Balancing investors’ interests, community needs, and the preservation of the Carpathians’ natural potential;
• Coordination among communities, businesses, and central government authorities to unlock investment projects.

The key takeaway from the discussion was that a modern community should be not only a location for a project but also a full-fledged partner for investors. Investors value prompt communication, transparent regulations, infrastructure readiness, and comprehensive local-level project support.

The Carpathian region has significant investment potential in tourism, hospitality infrastructure, recreation, real estate development, local manufacturing, processing industries, green energy, and the service economy.
